Welcome to Meyer Cattle Company: established in 2010!

Meyer Cattle Company is young, but rich in heritage. Growing up on a family cattle and crop operation in southeast Nebraska, I have always had a passion for cattle. I worked with my parents in all aspects of the cattle industry on what is known as the “Ronald Meyer Family Farm” which carries the Maine-Anjou herd prefix “RMFF”. In 1999 I officially started building my own commercial herd with financing through Farm Service Agency's youth loan program. My strong background in the cattle industry helped me grow my business. I became interested in genetics at a young age and wanted to take the next step in building a low input, efficient purebred Angus herd. In 2009 after purchasing a foundation set of Angus cows, I chose to sell my commercial herd to my father, Ronald Meyer. These commercial cows continued to make excellent recipients for the embryo transfer program which was currently in place for the Maine-Anjou donors where Denver, Fort Worth, and Kansas City Champions were raised. The type and kind of cattle I admire today are focused around years of being involved with various breeds of commercial and purebred Maine-Anjou cattle. I am grateful for that opportunity.
My base herd consists of mainly Ohlde bloodlines purchased from Duff Cattle Company, Foundation Cattle Company, Griswold Cattle Company and Jauer Dependable Genetics. These deep bodied cows have the ability to flesh easily without supplementation of high cost grains. I currently use both Red & Black Angus and Black Simmental sires in the embryo transfer program as well as during artificial insemination to broaden my marketing avenues. The bulls produced from these cows have the ability to sire quality feedlot steers as well as outstanding replacements for the low herd cost commercial cattleman.
Meyer Cattle Company’s mission is to use our knowledge, experience, and God honoring abilities to breed high quality, well balanced cattle.
